A Discerner of Spirits

~ "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the... same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills." (1 Corinthians 12)

~ No, I am not a prophet.. I am a discerner. Sometimes God allows me to see glimpses of future stuff, but only so that I better understand what I am seeing in the present. Yes, I know, that sounds crazy.. what can I say.. I have run from it my whole life.. but I have had dreams and visions as far back as I can remember as a kid. Rooms before they were built, ppl by name before we met, how things wou...ld play out before they happened.. God just wired me that way for some reason.. but the thing is.. he wired you too.. in some quirky way that reaches into the supernatural and touches ppl.. and when you commit it to him.. "according to (in harmony with) the word and will of God" a power will be released for the glory of God .


~ Such a thing doesn't mean that the gifts operate at will.. it means that God will tell you or allow the gift to operate when he deems it necessary... to build up the body or you or to perform his will.. for the common good, the good of the whole will of God, the big picture. I only discern what God says is necessary, prophets only know something if God has a purpose or reason for them to know.. so be leery of anyone operating in a spiritual gift that commands it at will. If they aren't asking God to impart it to them, they may be walking the edge near error. We are postmen.. The mail is from God.. if he doesn't send it, there's nothing to deliver.

~ That's something God told me a long time ago.. even big names or charismatic or popular ministry and ministers can get off track.. spiritual gifts only have power when we move in them according to the word and will of God.. in harmony with, at one with, submitted to... that word and insight is an absolute revelation to so much!

~ We are postmen.. The mail is from God.. if he doesn't send it, there's nothing to deliver.
